Four times during the past 3 weeks, I have noticed one or two small spots of dried blood on my pillowcase in the morning. Although I quit smoking 30 years ago, I often cough at night and am assuming that the blood got coughed up. I ve checked for other possible sources, but I ve not had any ear irritations, nosebleeds, sinus infections, mouth irritations, or skin cuts or irritation that could be causing this. The amount is really small--no more than a couple of drops--but I am wondering if I should see a doc.
HI Well come to HCM just pillow cover is stained with blood then this is not the indication of any serious disease, unless the blood comes out with the sputum at the time of coughing (Hemoptises ), then this would be due to some disease , else this is nothing to worry, at the most condition can be investigated to clear the doubt, and for that get done the x-ray of chest and sputum examination, hope this information helps, take care.
