What Causes Blood In Stool And Abdominal Pain While On Augmentin?

been takeing augmentin plus 1000mmg two tablets twice a day for one week think this is too much now seriously ill lower bowel . bleeding brown liquid mixed with yellow substance .now lost half a stone in 7 days originally prescribed for tooth ache on holiday in a lot of pain in lower bowel area have had lower bowel surgery in past for cancer stopped tablets 3 days ago and now just managed to get out of bed

one of the uncommon side effects of Augmentin is ( blood in stool ) ..
you should council back your doctor to change it with another medication and notice your stool , if there is no more blood so it is quite sure that it was from Augmentin , if not , you should do some investigations to roll out any colon serious disease like cancer colon or significant ulcers .
the most common blood chemistry investigation is Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) . also a sigmoidoscopy must be done , especially if you have an obvious loss of weight in a short period of time .
