What Causes Blood In Stool And Burning Sensation During Defecation?

I was having a normal poop, no blood in it. It wasn t until I was almost done wiping I noticed some bright red blood on the toilet tissue. Should I be worried? (I ve been having runny poop and wiping heaps quite frequently, and it started hurting at one stage and when hot water touches my bum it stings like its cut open.)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Blood on wiping may be due to hemorrhoids but this should be confirmed by examination by your doctor and other causes ruled out.

Persistent diarrhea can be due to different possible causes such as: (1) side effect of medication
(2)thyroid disease
(3)inflammatory bowel disease such as crohns or ulcerative colitis
(4)infection
(5)diabetes
(6)irritable bowel syndrome

Since you are having persistent diarrhea, the blood may also be due to abrasions on the skin as a result of repeated wiping.

I hope this helps
