What Causes Blood In Stool Of An Infant?

Hi doctor.. My baby is eight months old. He is having blood in stooled and motions and cold. Doctor has suggested colistop .25 dosage and in using it from two days but there is no improvement on my baby. Should I dilute colistop and give him.. please help
