What Causes Blood In The Amniotic Fluid?

i had an amnio at 28 almost 29 weeks. The hospital rushed my results to where i got the final in 6 days. When the amnio was done she had went thru part of my placenta and the fluid had blood. How accurate can that be if they had 2 people rushing my results with my blood in the fluid?

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. If the amniotic fluid is contaminated with blood, then the results are not accurate. The blood in the amniotic fluid leads to karyotype of the wrong cells, thus leading to incorrect diagnosis.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
