What Causes Blood In Urine After A Bladder Biopsy?
I had a bladder biopsy 11 days ago. after the biopsy there was minimal bleeding. within a couple of days my urine appeared normal. yesterday I noticed very small clots when I urinated, which I was told to expect. today, this afternoon, I started urinating good size clots and blood colored urine. I m not leaking through my penis, but I m very concerrned as to whether I need to call my urologist or is this something that will clear on its own.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
it is not something unusual since bleeding after bladder biopsy may persist even after 2 weeks however it should subside progressively. You need to drink plenty of fluids, raspberry tea to promote urination. Also, avoid salty food and intercourse till bleeding persist. If this will become more intense or you start to feel dizziness and fever occur then you should see urologist or ER and do additional tests. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
