What Causes Blood In Urine After Taking Benadryl?

Good Morning. I am a 50 year old female with no major health problems other than allergies. I started taking children s benedryl for pot nasal drip per my allergist last night. This morning I had the sensation of a UTI and noticed small blod platlets in my urine. I have had UTI before but never seen it like this. I had a complete hysterectomy about 6 years ago. I am leaving on a cruise on Sunday so what should I do. Can I be seen at an UCC for this? I know when I had UTI before they gave me bactrim to clear it up. Thanks.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, you can be seen at urgent care for the urinary tract infection symptoms.

Urinary tract infections can commonly cause blood in the urine (hematuria), so it is not an abnormal symptom of this type of infection.

The assessment would include a urine analysis and antibiotics, possibly the same bactrim, would be prescribed.

I hope this helps
