What Causes Blood In Urine When Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer?
my friend 78 yrs old, was in good health, diagnosed with prostate cancer approx 4years ago, has had acid reflux pretty bad where he gets clogged up in the stomach area, twice had to have small surgery to unblock. He has been in the hospital for 2 weeks first told Pneumonia, put in a induced coma for several days until finished running tests, so he could rest. Now, hospital says he is bleeding from kidneys. What does this mean

It may be due to an advanced prostate or metastatic cancer involving kidney or urinary bladder.
It can also be due to other causes such as: 1. Urinary tract infections 2. Kidney infections 3. Stones in the kidney, ureter or urinary bladder 4. Cancers of the kidney or urinary bladder.
He needs to consult a urologist immediately and certain lab investigations such as an abdominal ultrasound scan and CT scan may be requested to find out the exact cause of hematuria.
