What Causes Blood In Urine While On Hormone Therapy For Prostate Cancer?

I am 49 years old and I underwent radiation therapy for prostate cancer, and currently on hormone therapy. The radiation ended since November 2015. I have seen occasionally a little bit of blood clot at the beginning of urination. I have no pain or fever. What may be causing this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Most likely reasons for blood in urine during radiotherapy is radiotherapy induced cystitis with or without urinary infection (which seems less likely as there is no pain or fever).
* Additional intake of more liquids, urinary alkalisers will help a lot.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
