What Causes Blood In Urine With Difficulty In Urinating?
My husband age 58 has been having trouble with slow stream urination. His PSA went from 1.5 and 2014 to 6.5 and 2016. He has had to prostate exams and been told everything s normal. however he has blood in his urine and his white cell count is very high which would indicate infection they are simply treating with antibiotics, what else could be going on?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Blood in urine could be caused by UTI, benign prostatic hyperplasia or prostate cancer. However, normal protate exams may exclude prostatic hyperplasia and cancer. UTI may be associated with a prostatitis(inflammation of the prostate of infectious origin). This may explain a positive PSA.I will suggest he continues with the antibiotscs as prescribed with some anti-inflammatories like diclofenac and take enough fluids. Hope this will help Best regards
