What Causes Blood In Urine?

I have had hemoteria in my urine for over 3 years. No symptoms,no pain Etc. Texts show Microscopic traces of blood. Had a scope done a few years ago and it showed no abnormality. But I still have it and wondering what are the possible reasons for that and if it could be nothing of consequence or serious.

Hi,

Hematuria is definitely a sign of kidney pathology, be it microscopic or gross. I don’t mean to apprehend you but just trying to warn you. Let me mention most probable causes that would fit your symptoms:

(1) gA nephropathy.
(2) systemic lupus erythematosis
(3) familial hematuria

What I mean to impress upon you is that you need to undergo further investigations for a definitive diagnosis and thus a prompt treatment.
Kidney biopsy is the test that would certainly make a specific diagnosis.

Kindly do consult a nephrologist to arrive at the accurate diagnosis and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
