What Causes Blood In Urine?

My husband has blood in his urine. He has no abdominal pain. He had some blood in his urine the other day, and then it cleared up for two days, now it is back again. He saw a doctor the other day, they claim there is no invection. What is your medical opinion?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Dear. Blood in urine may be due to several cause. Most common is urine infection. But you say there is no urine infection. Other possibility is kidney stones or urinary stones. An ultrasound scanning has to be done to rule out stones. Other serious causes are cancer of bladder etc which has to be ruled out by scanning. Kindly ask your husband to consult a urologist.
