What Causes Blood In Vomit And Diarrhea?
my 22 year old daughter was in the hospital for vomitting and dirrehea since taking her increase of zoloft from 100mg to 200 mg. she was diagnosed with metabolic acidosis...her ph and blood levels were normal when discharged, but still she can t hold anything down...and there was some blood in her vomit last night and this morning..what can we do

Blood in vomit should not be ignored. This may be from ulcer in the stomach and sometimes may be serious. Zoloft can cause ulcer in the stomach. There are other causes as well. Generally we do endoscopy in such cases to look into the stomach with a camera scope if there is any ulcer inside.
Or any other cause for her blood in vomit. If there so a ulcer and no other cause we may need to cut Zoloft.
