What Causes Blood In Vomit With Chest Pain And Cough In Smoker?
hi my fiance used to puke blood from time to time but we figured it was due to his smoking. but he's only been smoking a cig once in awhile now and tonight he threw up blood again. he's also been getting bad chest pains, bad coughs, and his body aches lately even when he does nothing to provoke it. I really just want to know what's going on so he can get help for it!
Chronic smoking (irrespective of number of cigarette smoked per day) can lead to cardiac problem, damage to lungs and increase acid secretion. Increase acid production and damage to lung can cause blood in cough and sputum along with chest pain. To know the pathology, investigations like Bronchosopy and upper GI endoscopy are helpful. Sometime infection also present with similar clinical picture. There is need to meet physician urgently to prevent bleeding.
For long term treatment quit smoking and then remain abstinent from smoking. If you are not able to stop smoking yourself, then for deaddiction you can meet nearby psychiatrist.
Wishing you good health and all the best. www.99doctor.com
