What Causes Blood Smell While Breathing Quickly Through Nose?

Recently, when i breathe in through my nose I can smell blood. Usually it is when i breathe in quickly, but after it begins I can smell it even if I breathe in slowly. There is never actually any blood coming out of my nose though. What could this mean?

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . The most probable cause blood like smell from your nose is sinus infection known as sinusitis . Sinusitis can be caused by many factors like bacterial or viral infection , fungal infection or allergy .

So i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist (ear, nose ,throat) for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order blood test and throat swab test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (amoxicillin) course , decongestant or anti viral depending on the cause . Usually viral infection complete its course and medicines are given to relieve symptom .

For now take steam for 2-3 times a day and ginger tea and take 8-9 glasses of water daily.
