What Causes Blood While Coughing When Diagnosed With COPD?
I have COPD. One day I got blood on my cough. My doctor order CT scan of my chest and they found nodes, the largest one is about an inch. Then I undergo on Bronchospic procedure, do the washing of my bloody lungs, got sample of the fluids. The fluid comes out negative if any malignant cell. Then my doctor said I need to go for another procedure to get a sample from the largest nodes. My question is, why do I have to go for another procedure, the fluid sample is not malignant? I m confused, please help. Thank you.
Hello I really appreciate your concern You may require a another procedure to establish a cause for blood in cough which could be due to infection like bronchitis, Tuberculosis or malignancies are the major causes besides number of other rare causes.
In my opinion you may require a CT scan or sputum microscopy, X ray chest Since I can't physically examine you to get more clues so I would advise you to consult a chest physician for clinical examination and correlation with investigations
Thanks for your question Best wishes
