Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I m 19 years old and I ve been having this problem for a while. Every time I get my period, it will stay for about a week and then go away as normal. Then a couple days after it passes, I get blood in my discharge and this lasts for a few days as well. Ive even had an experience where I came home and fresh blood covered my pantiliner. I went to my doctor a couple days ago and he said it was normal . I don t understand how that could possibly be normal, but I didn t want to debate with him because he s the professional and I m not. I just figured since he was an adult Doctor, maybe he thought that it was normal because most of his patients are older women experiencing menopause. Is this normal? What could be the problem? Thank you.

What Causes Bloody Discharge For A 19-year-old?
Hello, I read carefully your query and understand your concern. Bloddy discharge is called spotting, and it s perfectly normal. If this is unusual for you or if it persists for more than a few cycles, you may want to consult a gynecologist. In rare cases, bloody discharge can be an indication of an infection. Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again. Kind regards! Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi General &Family Physician
