What Causes Bloody Sputum After Waking Up Every Morning?
Hello.. My problem is that when i get up in the morning or after any nap,I always end up spitting blood. This has been happening with me since four months. But i just didnt fear about it. but now i feel that i should know the reason behind it... So would u please let me know what is the reason behind this bleeding?
I can understand your concern. It seems that the blood in saliva is coming from the gums and not the throat, which is a symptom of pyorrhea or periodontitis.
Due to inadequate brushing and oral hygiene technique, plaque and calculus or tartar tend to accumulate on the surface where gums meet teeth and as soon as it is irritated with mechanical means like with ttoothbrush or spitting, it starts to bleed.
I would advise you to visit a dentist for oral examination and go for scaling which is mechanical cleaning of the plaque and calculus. It will stop the bleeding from gums and will improve the health of gingiva.
This treatment along with two times toothbrushing, flossing, use of mouthwash and gum paint will improve the gingival health and will prevent such problems in future.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
