What Causes Bloody Stool Discharge?

Hello, I experienced bloody stool about two months ago. I had a small tear in that area and I assume that s why that occured. But then I experienced more of these tiny cuts. I have experienced itchiness and now a rash on the inside of my butt cheek close to my anus. Could the itchiness be caused by my laundry detergent and the tears due to my itching? I m currently using a cheap detergent and I think my issues have been occuring since I ve switched detergents. I m not 100% sure, but I d rather it be the detergent than some of the other things I ve read online. Could there be other factors? Is this the problem? What are some solutions?

Hello,

Bloody diarrhea can be due to different causes like infection, hemorrhoids, anal fissure, lower GI bleeding. Although allergic reaction to contents in the detergent you are using can cause itching although just involvement of anal region only makes it related to some other underlying cause.Although in doubt, I advise stop using the detergent for now.

I suggest you visit a gastroenterologist, and get yourself examined. Physical examination is necessary. He might suggest some diagnostic tests for further clarification if needed. Depending on the results he will be able to guide you further with appropriate medical management.
