hi, my mom is 59 and diabetic which is under control. 3 days before she passed blood in the urine and after that burning sensation while urinating. urine routine shows no infection, culture is not yet done. doctor doubts it may be kidney stone, but she has no lower backpain or any abdominal. what can be the reason
Dear sir i can understand your concern i am very sorry about condition of your mother in my opinion the most common cause for microscopic haematuria are 1.contamination of sample with menstrual blood. 2.renal stones 3.urethritis in infections like schistosoma haematobium and tuberculosis of bladder. once benign conditions are ruled out its highly advisable to check for any signs of malignancy. As your history is telling burning of micturition the most probable cause could be Infection i suggest you to take up urine culture testing with early morning sample. keep good control of diabetes because poor diabetic control will give more infections and also take sufficient water. regards Dr vamsi Diabetologist
