What Causes Bloody Vaginal Discharge?

Hi there, I had been suffering from fever, strong headaches and back pain for the past week and have just been diagnosed with a kidney infection. I am now taking antibiotics. I have noticed a grainy, bloody vaginal discharge that is quite separate from urine and I m pretty sure it s not my period. Could there be an additional gynaecological issue? I m 31 years old, 145lb, 5 7 . Thanks!
