What Causes Blue Bruises On Arm While Taking Xarelto For A-fib?
I have A-fib and taking Warfarin was not successful in thinning my blood so I was put on Xaralto...I do not get blue bruises on the rest of my body that I can see but both of my lower arms are spotted and blue. It is embarrassing and I try to cover it up with make-up as much as I can. Why would this be happening only on my lower arms and am liable to bleed more profusely if I had an accident or fell, perhaps bleeding internally where I could not see it in time?
Hello, welcome to health care magic. The reason for bruises on your lower arms is that they are most commonly exposed to minor trauma as kèeping youur elbows on table or unknowingly hitting it on doors etc and since you are taking xeralto so it causes minir subcutaneous bleeds menifesting as bruises. This is a known complication of this medicine.
