What Causes Blue Discoloration On The Left Breast?

I m a 56 year old male. I noticed this morning I have a bluish colored and tender area on my left breast (chest) generally where the heart is and approximately a quarter size in diameter. I feel fine; did stress a bit lifting a heavy object yesterday but do not recall anything hitting that area. It is a bit swollen or protruding and almost appears as a swollen vessel if not perhaps only a bruise. Any thoughts? I m 5 10 , 170 pounds, light on my feet and while I don t work out I m physically active.

Hello,

Localised bluish discoloration over a night may be due to bruising due to trauma or stain of blue ink pen or cyanosis or infection etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
