What Causes Blue Veins On The Legs While Suffering From Brain Tumor?

I am 75 yo female with hx of 2 strokes, a non-malignant brain tumor and presently AVM of mid-brainstem. Past 2 yrs developed multiple blue veins in upper AND lower legs. Also have permanent blk/blu blotches all over legs behind knees and on ankles also. IS THERE ANY CONNECTION THAT BRAIN ISSUES ARE SOMEHOW RELATED TO THIS MESS ON MY LEGS?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The blue veins you are referring seems to be varicose veins. To me, you should run Doppler ultrasound of the blood vessels in your upper and lower extremities to determine if there are blood clots or blood vessel valves not working properly.

I do not want to precipitate into final conclusions, better check it out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
