I have a blueish ball under the skin on my bottom lip I have had it for several years I think I dropped a hard cover book on my lip while I was reading in bed. It doesn't hurt but it isn't pretty and lipstick does not completely cover it. How can I get rid of it?...please help...sincerely YYYY@YYYY 530-277-7705
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain a bluish ball over the lower lip can be a mucocele that is formed due to rupture of the duct of minor salivary gland due to physical injury leading to spillage of mucous into the soft tissues.. It can also be a hematoma secondary to ruptue of any small blood vessel.. You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis.. In case if it is persisting surgical removal can be done.. As of now you can apply a concentrated solution of salt water over it and do salt water rinses..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
