What Causes Blurred Vision And A Blue Ring Around The Eye?

An associate woke up with blurred vision and a blue ring around his eye. I told him to call an make an appt. with an Optomologist. He thought at first it was his contacts but then put his glasses on and is still having the blurred vision. He is concerned that he is all of a sudden losing his eye sight. Is this the right recommendation?

As you explain the history yes, in my opinion, this is the right recommendation for him. He should absolutely see his oculist as soon as possible to evaluate what is the exact cause of his concern.
