What Causes Blurred Vision Despite Undergoing A Cataract Surgery?

Sir, My mother aged 77 is diabetic and recently got operated for cataract in left eye. But she complains for not getting the eye sight improved after operation. Doctor now says that her retina is affected due to diabetes and prescribed her gloeye once a day for three months. Please guide whether this medicine will improve the eye sight. N.C.jain, 0000

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As she is diabetic, there can be issues with internal tissue healing as retina and other eye structures; post operative edema of retina can also be a great cause of concern to give rise to blurry vision. Kindly share with me your post operative ultrasound evaluation of the retina during follow up conversation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
