What Causes Blurred Vision Post Placement Of Heart Catheter?

A couple of weeks ago I had a heart cath and while I was in recovery I was watching the monitors and noticed I was having blurred vision and could not seem to focus very well. I assumed it was the medication they used to sedate me with, however, it didn t get any better. I called my eye doctor and they couldn t se me until today. He examined my eye and told me that I had experienced a stroke in one of the arteries that run to my eye. It is referring me to a specialist next week. My heart cath was fine by the way and as far as I know I don t have high blood pressure. Can you please explain to me a little about what all this means?

Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with blurred vision following a heart catheterization I am suggesting that you have developed the following differential diagnosis

Retinal infarction
Optic nerve palsy
Diabetic retinopathy
Hypertensive retinopathy
Retinal vein thrombosis

In view of this please do the following test
Fasting blood sugar
Serum electrolytes
MRI angiography

Meanwhile please see an ophthalmologist specialist with the results and for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription
