What Causes Blurred Vision?

My husband has occasional issues where his vision is affected (like looking through out of focused binoculars) and his vision seems to get darker. He then feels like he is having a panic attack. It usually only lasts about 15 to 30 minutes. When he recovers, he feels drained. No energy. He has no pain or breathing issues. What could this be? It comes and goes without warning. It really concerns us. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If it is related to panic attack than sweating, dyspnea like anxiety related symptoms might be present. So such presentation should not be neglected and detailed ophthalmoscopic examination need to be done to reach up to diagnosis.

Sometime optic nerve compression by any mass also can be causative. So you need to consult ophthalmologist for detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
