What Causes Blurred Vision?

I just had an experience of blurred vision/double vision that lasted less than 30 seconds. I don t know if it was in both eyes or one eye.. didn t check. I m aware of the possibility of TIA or stroke (having read about them.) I have an appointment with my internal medicine doctor tomorrow morning. I prefer not to go to ER this evening. Sound like a reasonable plan? Background: this is the third time this has happened. (3 weeks ago 15 seconds; 3 days ago 30 seconds) I m a 61 yr old female in otherwise excellent health, but am under quite a bit of stress at the moment (ill spouse.)

Hello,

In case a similar event happens, it would be advisable to check if this was in one eye or both. You can do this by checking your vision, or if you see double, with each eye by separate, as there are very different causes for your symptom if this involves one eye or both eyes. As well, if you have a new episode, you should seek immediate medical attention by an Ophthalmologist or Neurologist.
In addition to the examination by the Internal Medicine specialist, an examination and workup by an Ophthalmologist should also be advisable.
