What Causes Body Ache Along With Body Chills And Runny Nose?
For the last 3 days I am experiencing body aches, primarily in my lower back, behind both thighs, and slightly in rectal area. Initially, the sx were associated with chills. To me, it feels like I have a viral infection. The sx go away with Ibuprofen 600mg every 6 hours. I take a total of 2400 mg Ibuprofen in a 24hr period. I did have a cold with some cough, sore throat and runny nose for about 3-4 days preceding these body aches, but the cold sx have subsided. I m hoping these sx go away soon. I am 65yo woman, and am in generally very good health. Thank you
Very likely your symptoms are due to a viral infection. I would advise you to continue to use ibuprofen to help with the body pains. The dose you are taking is good, just take it after food to avoid stomach problems. Make sure you drink plenty of water and rest well.
You should feel much better in the next 2-3 days. If you are not better or if you are any worse, you will need to have a check with your doctor.
I hope this is helpful and answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
