What Causes Body Aches While Suffering From Hypothyroidism?

I am a 59 year old woman with hypothyroidism for over 25 years. I do have a tiny nodule on my thyroid that was discovered last year. I am scheduled for another sonogram in a week. However, these past few days by mid day I ve been experiencing body aches with no fever. Should I be alarmed of a more serious issue? Well this is embarrassing! I thought this was a free consult. Thank you but I will visit my doctor for further diagnosis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Hypothyroidism is characterized by low metabolic rate...resulting in weak muscles & joint movements. You show the typical symptoms.

You need to get thyroid function tests done &start with specific medication to fulfill the deficiency. Please consult an endocrinologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
