I quit smoking cold turkey 2 and a half wks. ago due to a sudden illness that sent me to the emergency room. I have copd, and coronary artery problems, had them for years, but couldn t seem to stop smoking which I did most of my life, I m 64 yrs. old. when I first quit I WAS ON ONE STEROID A DAY FOR 4 DAYS AND COUGH SYRUP WITH CODENE. I slept a lot then my daughter took me to her home which is completely smoke free. For 9 days I practically slept around the clock barely kept food down had the runs on and off , seems what I ate came out one end or another., but the worse thing was that I was freezing, all the time so cold my fingers would go numb, and my teeth would almost chatter, though I m starting to feel better the last few days, I m coughing a lot , I still have days where I feel fatigued, and am very cold, like yesterday, I got so tired I couldn t keep my eyes open and I was freezing. Could that be withdraw ? A shock to my body or what??
