What Causes Body Itching After Taking Amoeba Drugs?

My body started itching all over a month ago after i bought and took some drugs to treat amoeba. later a clinical office gave me Piriton which did not solve the problem. What could be happening? I used to smoke and drink alcohol but left the habit two months ago.
