What Causes Body Not To Absorb Throxine?

Hi 3years ago my daughter underwent a thyroidecotmy for cancer , today her consultant advised that her body was not absorbing her medication,thyroxine. Could you possibly give us a reason for this?
This is the first time that a negative blood result has been indicated.
She is 50 years old,5ft 7inches, weighs approx. 8st 10lbs,she generally enjoys good health.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

Your daughter has gone for thyroidecctomy and she need external thyroid supplements now. Dosages of thyroxine depends on level of TSH.

Many other drug may affect the metabolism of thyroxine so please tell me the result of T3, T4 and TSH so that I can help you further.
