What Causes Body Rash After Increasing The Dosage Of Prozac In A Child?

My 14 tear old granddaughter is on Prozac 20mg od. Her dose was recently increased from 10 mg to 20 mg. She is away at a wedding and has developed a rash. My daughter texted to ask if I knew what it could be. She has no other signs or symptoms. I see that rash is a less severe side effect. Should my daughter take her to a doctor?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Prozac is Fluoxetine and the drug is considered as a safe drug. The drug is an approved drug for use in children. The drug is not associated with any risk of serious rashes in general. So in my opinion the rash should be evaluated properly. If everything comes normal then we can label this rash occurring due to Prozac.

Thanks, Take care
