Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For some time I occasionally suffer from sudden shaking and sweating which I can bring under control by eating something sugary. I have never been treated for diabetes but understand my risks are low - I weigh 60k, am 46, female, height of 5'6" with no close relatives suffering from the condition. I consider myself healthy, eat regularly and a mixed range of food, exercise etc. Any suggestions, and should I go to my doctor to check for anything else? Thanks
Respected madam you feel shaking along with tremors . Your age is 46 years..This may be because of hypoglycaemia as you have noticed improvement in symptoms after eating something . so at least once before eating anything check your blood sugar level then eat .apart from this there are few other causes such as hyperthyroidism that can be checked by simple thyroid profile or it may be because one of menopausal symptoms if you have irregularities or cessation of menstrual cycles.so to reach the diagnosis we need complete history and physical examination . Some blood test as well..so I would like to suggest you that you should discuss these things with your physician and get work up done.hope this will help.
