What Causes Body Warmth Feelings With No Fever?

I'm a 57 year-old male. This summer I have episodes of body feeling warm/hot inside, but I have no fever. It can last all day or maybe part of a day. The same happens at night. I have to take a cool shower so I can fall asleep. Then during the night, my body heats up which disrupts my sleep. I did not experience this during the winter or spring, just this summer. I had a complete physical exam several weeks ago and all my tests are normal. I am on a testorone replacement and have been for several years. Any explanation for this? Thanks.

Hello,

You have history of TRT and are now experiencing body warmth without fever in this summer season, the feeling of warmth is causing disturbance of sleep at night. Take regular showers, wear soft light colored cotton clothes and take plenty of water, juice, electrol and ORS. Avoid going outdoors without air condition and do not stay empty stomach. Sometimes, TRT has side effects that may affect the heart and cause it to dysfunction thus triggering sweating, body warmth or hot flashes.

You are suggested to get routine cardiac check up (CBC, lipid function tests, urinalysis, stress test, imaging tests, etc) done to rule out any developing CAD. This is to stay on the safer side. Dehydration causes hyperthermia, it depletes not only water content of the body but also necessary minerals thus triggering stress on the heart, sweating and discomfort. Stay well hydrated, take showers and adequate sleep.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
