Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Boil-like Sore Between My Scrotum And Anus?
I have a boil-like sore between my scrotum and anus. It appeared today. After long driving Friday and Saturday followed by working in extreme heat Sunday and Monday. Lots of sweat. I thought it was cadging but swollen lump has formed. Tight and pain at 5 out of 10.
Since you drove in extreme heat and sweaty environment, you might have encountered folliculitis (infection of hair follicles). this might have spread to the local adjacent skin causing abscess formation.
A perineal abscess is an infection that causes a painful lump in the perineum. The perineum is the area between the scrotum and the anus in a man.
You need to visit your doctor for a checkup of the affected area whether to treat it with proper antibiotics or to drain the abscess surgically.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr SAMEEN BIN NAEEM, General & Family Physician
