What Causes Boils All Over The Body After Taking Steroid Injections?

Hello doctor,

In the 3rd month of my pregnancy (June 2010) I was diagnosed as having AIHA (Auto Immune Haemolytic Anaemia) for which I was prescribed Omnacortil 60 mg every day. Soon after taking this steroid I experienced its side effects with boils/acnes all over my body including my face. I delivered a baby boy (premature) after the 7th month (30th Sept’10). However I was prescribed to take the medicine till November 2010. And currently it has been tapered down to 5mg every alternate day.

My concern is that even after taking such high dose of this steroid for such a long time my Retic Count has still not dipped down and is still at 8 (as per my reports taken on 14th Jan’11). Now my haemologist has advised me to substitute it with Azoran 50mg and to stop breastfeeding my baby.

I request you to kindly advise me as to how I can be back to my healthy self (which I was before conceiving) as I am tired of taking these medicines.
