What Causes Bowel Irritation After Undergoing Colonoscopy?

I had surgery 22 years ago for lower g i bleed. Removed 2/3 of my colon with resection. Stool is fine. Watch diet pretty good. Colonoscopy, minor irritation. Nothing major. I have been to doctors several times over the last two years with no relief of pain. Pain 24-7. It is so bad now, I asked if they could remove the rest of my colon and they refuse. I have insurance and I am desperate. Any suggestions? Oh crap. Thanks for nothing

Hi,

These symptoms can be of irritable bowel syndrome and further resection is not advisable however chronic use if anti spasmodic like Drotaverine or Mebeveramine may be helpful. If pain is severe OTC analgesic like Acetaminophen can also be used along.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
