What Causes Breakout Of Spots After Having Vitamin B12 Injections?

Hi, I am vitamin B12 deficiant. I have a couple of questions about this:
1. I do not have pernicious anemia but the doctor said I will still need to get vitamin B12 injections every 3 months rather than just trying to eat more foods that contain Vitamin B12. I don't understand why that is the case as if I don't also have pernicious anemia I understand that means my body can still absorb vitamin B12?
2. Secondly, I have NEVER had problems with my skin and after getting my 3 monthly injection I always break out in spots. My doctor hasn't been very helpful about this and just said it is something I am going to have to just put up with. It really gets me down though and I obviously want to try and find a solution to this. Are there different injections you can get or am I stuck with continuing to use this one which always gives me these problems? The injection I currently use is called hydroxocobalamin - 1mg in 1 ml solution for injection.
