What Causes Breast Soreness And No Cramping During Periods?

I'm 38 years old. I have been having continous breast sorenes. My last menstrual cycle I had no symptoms. That is unusual for me because I always have strong to severe cramps. Its has been like that since i was young. Can u give me an idea about what could be happening.
