What Causes Breathing Difficulty After Getting Exposed To Cold Winds?

Hi. This past weekend I went on a trip where I experienced strong cold winds for miles at a time. (backpacking) Today when I try to breathe it feels like I have air stuck in my lungs and I can feel it up to my throat. It s making it hard to breathe comfortably. I don t know what it could be; fluid?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I don't think it is fluid.
In my opinion you are having bronchitis. Mostly due to viral infection.
Viral infection is very common in cold weather. Actually cold environment helps virus to grow and spread.
So in winters viral infections are more common.
Your symptoms like difficulty in breathing, not getting enough air can be seen in bronchitis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to diagnose bronchitis.
