What Causes Breathing Difficulty After Plasma Donation?

I am a 32 yr old male 135 pound smoker of 16 years. I used to be in great shape walking or running 10 miles a day at least. The last week I have tried to donate plasma and had my pulse checked 4 times ranging from 110-121 so was denied. I have also during this time had a weird feeling 6 1/2 below my collar bone and 3 1/2 inches to the left of my septum. This is couple with feeling like I am struggling to get enough oxygen. After a few deep breaths and a few minutes it tends to subside for awhile. I think I just need to start exercising more but a bit concerned with no health insurance. I m 5 10 and don t eat that great?
