What Causes Breathing Difficulty After Taking Levetiracetam?

I am on the leviteracitum medication. Two times now, I have been uncomfortable breathing, until I lay down. It was about 3 months apart from the two incidences. However, the first time it only lasted about 7 minutes. The second time, it lasted about 3.5 hours. Is this something I need to go to my doctor for?

Hi,

It can cause trouble breathing also seizures themselves are known to cause trouble breathing . It would be better to consult your neurologist because if you have such severe symptoms we can change the antiepileptic and it should be slowly tapered.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
