What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Nausea While On Prazosin?

I take Prazosin for PTSD nightmares. It s a new medication that I ve been taking for less than a week (about 4 - 5 days). Last night I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and I felt so ill from the 10 foot walk that I couldn t breathe and I felt like I was about to puke as if I had the flu. I was told there would be some bad side effects of Prazosin, should I continue taking it or should I be concerned?

Hello, i just read your comment and from what you mentioned it does seem that you have a side effect of Prazosin .
Prazosin is known to cause nausea in 5 % of patients.I wouldn't recommend discontinuing this just because of nausea.
I would suggest that you try to take omeprazole 20 mg capsules once a day till your symptoms resolve and your body gets accustomed to Prazosin.
The breathing problem is also related to increased acid reflux from your stomach and will as well subside with Prazosin.
Hope my advice proves to be of some help to you.Goodluck.
