What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Pain In The Chest?
My daughter, 21 yrs old, has been having difficulty breathing, it is worse in the evening, for the past couple of days. She has been having pain in her rib-cage, chest, and back probably from trying to breath. Last night she took a clariton tablet, and two advil. it was helpful. she is exhibiting the same symptoms now along with some tingeling an numbness in her hands and face. where do i start?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The symptoms she presents could be caused by a respiratory tract infection or lungs infection. Most of these infections are of viral origin and may need only symptomatic management. However, bacterial infection infection is possible and will need a course of antibiotics. Her symptoms could also be caused by a respiratory passage irritation or allergy. I will suggest she continues with clariton, advil, take enough fluids, avoid cold, dust and smoke. She may also add a mucolytic like carbocysteine. She may also see a Doctor for examination and work-ups.A chest X-ray will be very useful to know the state of her lungs and a full blood count and CRP to look for argument in favor of an infection. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
