What Causes Breathing Difficulty, Excessive Sweating, Confusion, Vomiting And Diarrhea?

Hi My wife aged 64 was admitted to hospital yesterday morning after suffering increasing symtoms -Difficuity breathing, exsesive sweating , very confused & disoriantated, vomiting dirhorea. She slept pretty much the entire weekend from friday through to monday. her condition worsened over night and she was put in a high risk ward with her own nurse. They are moving her into isolation today. We recently returned from India, thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia. two months ago. I am now getting same symtoms.Getting very concerned.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have breathing difficulty, excessive sweating, confusion, vomiting and diarrhea. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like food poisoning , gastroenteritis , anxiety disorder , panic attack , traveler's diarrhea , irritable bowel syndrome , lactose intolerance or hyperthyroidism. I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination .Doctor may order ECG , beacuse symptoms can also ocur due to cardiac problem . blood test , physical examination or check vitals . Doctor may refer you to gastroenterologist for gastric problem , cardiologist for cardiac problem . For now drink plenty of water stay calm , take proper rest and take anti emetic drug .
