What Causes Breathing Problems With Chest Heaviness?

I sometimes feel like I am having trouble breathing when I exert myself. It s like something heavy is on my chest. I am overweight. 5 6 & 239 lbs. I ve recently started interval walking 12-23 mins per day for 4 days this week. What could be causing this? What kind of Dr should I see?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Here your obesity might contribute in trouble breathing ....
It can lead apnea....

You have to investigate with ......
-serum cholesterol
-tread mill test (stress test )
-Ecg or echo
-chest x ray with spirometry

If x ray and ECG shows normal result then try to focus mainly on reducing your weight....

For that daily do cardio respiratory exercise....
Low fat diet...
Fruits and green leafy vegetables taken more.....
Use less oil in cooking...
And keep taking transfat diet minimum like pizza, junk food , meat etc...

Hope your concern solved....

Take care......
